For 50 years, The Institute of Living has been at the
forefront of Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Special education programs began in
1968, providing therapeutic and educational experiences to students in the Hartford and Central Connecticut area.
Today, The Webb Schools provide a comprehensive array of
services to public schools, ranging from in-district consultations to student
enrollments at one of our state-approved, special education schools located in Hartford, Cheshire, and Bloomfield. Our mission is to provide individually
tailored programs for students in the least restrictive environment. We also
provide consultation and education concerning mental health issues in schools
to parents, communities, and school districts.
The Webb Schools continue to be open to advances in the
fields of education and mental health. We are proud to continue the tradition
of innovation and quality as we develop programs to support students, their
families and their school districts. To this end, the effectiveness of our
programs is continually being evaluated and revised. Feedback from students,
parents, agencies and school districts often lead to the development of new
programs designed to meet particular needs.
Accolades from parents and communications with young
people who have participated in The Webb School programs verify that our
creative, caring environment helps students to realize their potential.
We invite anyone who would like more information about
our programs and services to browse our website and/or call those listed
within the site.
